Alejandra Martinez
I'm an award-winning freelance writer, archivist, and cat mom born in Laredo, TX, and currently based in Austin, TX. I've been writing professionally since 2016, specializing in film criticism, features, and pop culture articles from a Tejana perspective. My work has been published in a number of places including The Austin Chronicle, TheWrap, Letterboxd Journal, and RogerEbert.com. In 2024, I was voted Best Film Critic in The Austin Chronicle's Readers' Poll. I'm a member of both the Austin Film Critics Association and GALECA. I'm interested in horror movies, stories about lonely weirdos, the surreal, and crystallizing the ephemeral through my writing.
